2016 in Review WSMC

The Westside Ministers’ Coalition hosted monthly meetings to allow information from various organizations, politicians, businesses, religious leaders, residents, hospitals, schools, CAPS, and more! The following is the 2016 Westside Ministers’ Coalition In Review:

  • Community Outreach school bags given out to 400 children
  • Books given to 200 children
  • 40,000 Brookfield Zoo tickets to advisory board members for distribution to the community
  • Summer summit for Brookfield Zoo Youth Program for 400 youth hosted at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT)
  • Domestic violence forum 2 events in 2016, had 100 people to attend
  • Deputy registrar training for the community
  • Deputy registrar training for all of the Oak Street Health sites
  • Voters’ registration drive
  • Public safety training
  • Hosted a Chicago Community Trust – community roundtable on violence
  • FBI Citizens Academy graduates, and a newly elected Citizens Academy Advisory Board member
  • Dorothy Brown, Cook County Clerk, Annual Expungement Collaboration
  • Advocated for the citizens to sustain health coverage with Illinicare Health
  • Advocated for the citizens on the west side of Chicago to increase ridership with UBER
  • Columbus Park Fieldhouse Advisory Board
